To Admire

Getting a big trim? Where to donate if Locks of Love is not your thing.
In high school, I chopped off my long hair for Locks of Love. Since then, I have dyed my hair and not grown it out quite so long, though I am planning to get much more cut off. With such a big trim, I was sure I could find some charity that would accept my hair.
Indeed, there’s Pantene’s wig-making program. Or, I thought about donating it to Matter of Trust, which creates mats and booms of hair to absorb oil spills—but they are not currently taking more donations. If we composted at home, I would add it to the pile, but since we do not, I think I may leave it for the birds. No boxes or shipping fees—which I like—and the little birdies would have nest material for their babies. Good deal!
